Dowell, Susan Stiles
Susan Stiles Dowell is a freelance writer. While producing a film segment for a local television show, Dowell met Frances Kitching. Kitching remarked that one day she would like to do a cookbook. Dowell and Kitching decided to pool their talents and created the Mrs. Kitching’s Smith Island Cookbook.
A native of Massachusetts and a graduate of Goucher College, Dowell has been a feature reporter for the Maryland Center for Public Broadcasting and a frequent contributor to Coastal Living, Southern Accents, Town and Country, and other national magazines.
