Gould, Robert S.
Robert Gould, a retired physician, is an avid sailor/explorer who has made two transatlantic passages, six Bermuda passages, and has twice sailed to and from the Caribbean. He has cruised extensively in Western Europe from the Arctic Circle down to Southern Portugal and in North America from Nova Scotia to the Chesapeake Bay. Licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard as an ocean operator for vessels up to 50 tons and auxiliary sail vessels, Dr. Gould has taught sailing at the Boston Harbor Sailing School.
An assistant professor of surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and a former chief of surgery at a Boston area hospital, Dr. Gould is a founding member of the Board of Directors and officer of the Massachusetts Association of Practicing Urologists. Dr. Gould is the author of The Boater’s Medical Companion.
