Hunt, Everett C.
A part-time consultant to the marine industry, Everett C. Hunt previously was a professor of marine engineering at the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Webb Institute of Naval Architecture. Prior to joining the Academy, he was a merchant marine engineer officer, a naval officer, a turbine-gear design and application engineer, and a shipbuilder.
Hunt earned a BS in marine engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, an MS in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MS in operations research from Northeastern University, and a DS from Eurotechnical University.
Hunt is a fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers and a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts and a chartered engineer in the United Kingdom. Hunt has contributed to several professional journals, coauthored Marine Engineering Economics and Cost Analysis, and is the editor-in-chief of both Modern Marine Engineer’s Manual, Vol. I, Third Edition, and Modern Marine Engineer’s Manual, Vol. II, Third Edition.
