Mattsson, Algot

Algot Mattsson was the information officer for Swedish America Line, the owner of Stockholm, the ship that collided with the Andrea Doria in 1956. As such, he had special access to Johan-Ernst Carstens-Johannsen, Stockholm's third mate and the sole officer on the bridge at the time of the collision, which provided the foundation for the book Out of the Fog: The Sinking of Andrea Doria.
