Mills, Eric

Eric Mills was born in Baltimore and lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He holds a BA in English from Towson State University. He has worked on the editorial staff of the U.S. Naval Institute, been a reporter with the Star Democrat newspaper in Easton, Maryland, and editor of the scholarly journal of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. He also has conducted oral histories for the Historical Society of Talbot County.

As a reporter, Eric received a first place award for best entertainment section from Suburban Newspapers of America and numerous “Best of Chesapeake” awards. He has published poetry in national poetry journals and written monthly columns on history and outdoor sports. His hobbies are archery, chess, Chinese boxing, fishing, and playing the banjo, mandolin, and harmonica.

He is the author of Chesapeake Bay in the Civil War and Chesapeake Rumrunners of the Roaring Twenties.
