Nicholson, Lois

A media specialist with Queen Anne’s County, Maryland public schools, Lois Nicholson graduated from Salisbury State University with a BS in elementary education and a master of education degree. Nicholson was the recipient of the A. Pauline Riall Award for being the most outstanding student teacher in elementary education.

Being an avid reader and sports fan, Nicholson always wanted to write about sports heroes. She is a member of the Media Educators of Maryland and has served as president of the Upper Shore Reading Council of the International Reading Association.

Nicholson is the author of Cal Ripken, Jr., Quiet Hero, Second Edition, and From Maryland to Cooperstown: Seven Maryland Natives in Baseball’s Hall of Fame.
