Parks, Alex L.

Alex L. Parks (1925–1988) attended Troy State University and Tulane University before serving in the Naval Reserves. He served in the Navy during World War II and was recalled to active duty during the Korean War. During peacetime, Parks earned a JD degree from Willamette University College of Law, and practiced law in Portland, Oregon.

For many years, Parks lectured on admiralty and maritime law. He traveled to Asia, Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, and was a frequent contributor to the Journal of Maritime Law and Commerce and The Maritime Lawyer. Parks is the author of The Law and Practice of Marine Insurance and Average and coauthor of The Law of Tug, Tow, and Pilotage, Third Edition.
