Stearns, Carolyn

Carolyn Stearns earned a BA from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and an MS in dance from Smith College. She has taught at Smith College, Swarthmore, the University of Maryland, and Connecticut College.

Stearns is the author of several books, including Where Did All the Water Go? and Quiet Please—Eaglets Growing. Excerpts of her work have appeared in Reality Change, Fodderwing, the Washington Post, Pilgrimage, New Bay Times, Chesapeake, RebeccasReads.com E-Zine, earthlight!, Bay Weekly, and Choice magazine. She is a prize winner in contests sponsored by Baltimore Writers' Alliance, the National League of American Pen Women, and Maryland Writers’ Association. She has won honorable mention in the Writer’s Digest Writing Competition three times.

Stearns lives in Deale, Maryland, and at Weslemkoon Lake, Ontario, with her husband and her special teachers: Great Pyrenees dog Jean-Luc and cats black Angus and calico Phoebe. She and her husband have six children and six grandchildren.
